2018 Ford F-150 XL
The base Ford F-150 XL trim is anything but pedestrian. With the standard 290-horsepower 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 engine (new for 2018) and electronic 6-speed transmission with Tow/Haul and Sport modes, this trim is already setting the bar pretty high in terms of power.
For entertainment, you’ll find an AM/FM radio, where you can view the stations on a 2.3-inch productivity screen. You can listen to your music through the radio, or you can plug in an external device through the auxiliary audio input jack.
Furthermore, there’s no shortage of safety features in the Ford F-150. The XL trim comes standard with:
- Safety Canopy® side curtain airbags
- Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist
- AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™
- SOS Post-Crash Alert System™
The Ford F-150 XLT has the same performance as the trim level above. But when road conditions get a little rough, the XLT can easily shift into 4-wheel drive with the electronic shift-on-the-fly system. Within this system, you can choose between two 4-wheel drive modes (4×4 or High), as well as 2-wheel drive.
To get all your work equipment successfully to a job site, the 2018 Ford F-150 has a best-in-class towing of 13,200 pounds. And with Trailer Sway Control in the XLT trim, your hitched trailer with remain on a stable course, no matter what type of road you’re traveling on.
Technology features are enhanced in the XLT trim. There’s now a CD player, as well as the SYNC® infotainment system, where you can use the touchscreen or voice commands to pull up information like caller ID, song titles, and temperature settings.
The Ford F-150 Lariat comes with a 325-horsepower 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 engine that’s mated to an electronic 10-speed transmission with Tow/Haul, Snow/Wet, EcoSelect, and Sport modes.
Inside, you’ll find leather-trimmed 40/20/40 seats and front heated and ventilated seats. To get into the most comfortable seating position, the LARIAT has 10-way power driver and front passenger seats with driver memory.
Also, so the driver and front-seat passenger never argue about being too hot or too cold, this trim comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control.
Power is enhanced even further in the Ford F-150 Raptor trim, with its high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine that produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
In addition to high performance, you’ll always remain in control with Hill Descent Control. The system will keep a set low speed when descending down rough or slippery hills to keep control over the truck’s speed without needing to press on the brakes or accelerator.
In addition to new standard safety features Like Hill Descent Control, the Raptor comes with a bigger 4.2-inch productivity screen for the SYNC® system, as well as SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. With SiriusXM®, you can enjoy over 150 channels of commercial-free music, plus sports, news, and comedy.
F-150 King Ranch
The 2018 F-150 King Ranch has a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 that produces 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. It has twin independent variable cam timing and direct injection for optimized performance.
You can also now view your media options on an 8-inch productivity screen with the SYNC® 3 system that’s included in this trim. To get to your destination, use the voice-activated navigation with SiriusXM Traffic™ and Travel Link®. And with SYNC® Connect (powered by FordPass™) with Wi-Fi hotspot, you’ll always stay connected, no matter where you’re going.
The 2018 F-150 King Ranch is the first Ford vehicle in the United States to feature the Bang & Olufsen PLAY™ Premium Audio System. This system has:
- 10 speakers
- CD/MP3 player
- HD Radio™
The 2018 F-150 Platinum has the same performance as the King Ranch. It also has new features like a black leather-wrapped steering wheel and universal garage door opener.
In addition, the Platinum trim has Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross Traffic Alert. With BLIS®, you’ll be alerted when a vehicle is in your blind spot. And, the Cross Traffic Alert will detect when a vehicle or other object is behind your F-150 when you’re backing out of a driveway or parking spot.
The F-150 Limited has the same engine as the Raptor trim, and it comes with technology features that are standard in the King Ranch trim and above. Those features include:
- SYNC® 3 system
- SiriusXM Traffic™ and Travel Link®
- SYNC® Connect
