If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at The Lake Dealerships.
The 2017 Ford F-150 has a total of five engine options for drivers to choose from, while the Toyota Tundra only has two. Under the hood of the F-150, you might find a 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 (325 horsepower), a 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 (375 horsepower), a 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 (282 horsepower), a 5.0L Ti-VCT V6 (385 horsepower), and a high output 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 (450 horsepower).
The most powerful engine for the Toyota Tundra, a 5.7L V8, which only produces 381 horsepower. Meanwhile, the smaller 4.6L V8 is limited to just 310 horsepower. Both engines come paired to a six-speed automatic transmission in the Toyota Tundra and while the Ford F-150 also comes standard with an automatic six-speed, a 10-speed transmission is available.
When properly equipped, the 2017 Ford F-150 can tow up to 12,200 pounds. Compared to the Toyota Tundra, which can only tow 10,500 pounds when outfitted with the necessary equipment, that’s an additional 1,700 pounds of towing capacity. That could really come in handy for drivers who tow heavy loads like an RV or a boat.
In terms of maximum payload, the Toyota Tundra has a limit of 2,080 pounds. Meanwhile, the Ford F-150 offers 3,270 pounds of max payload, which is 1,190 more pounds than the Tundra.
There’s a wide variety of standard and available technology features in the 2017 Ford F-150, including dual-automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera system, and an eight-inch touchscreen display. Although the Toyota Tundra does offer a rearview camera, it does not have a 360-degree view like the available camera system in the Ford F-150.
However, there are a lot of technology features that the two trucks have in common, such as Bluetooth® compatibility for streaming audio and hands-free phone calls.
As you can see, there are a lot of differences between the 2017 Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra. If you’d like to learn more about the F-150 and how it compares to other trucks on the market, please contact us at The Lake Dealerships to schedule a test drive. We proudly serve drivers across the Lewistown, State College, Bellefonte, and Port Matilda area.
