Chevy Traverse Performance

The Traverse comes standard with a 3.6L V6 engine that achieves 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle achieves an EPA-estimated 18 city/27 highway MPG. Front-wheel drive is standard, or you can upgrade to all-wheel drive for improved handling and road grip. The sporty RS trim level offers a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that achieve 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Traction Mode Select

For improved performance, add Traction Mode Select for the ability to manually adjust the car’s settings for better handling on challenging road surfaces. Choose between four options:

  • FWD: Your mode for everyday road driving. When used on a vehicle with AWD, this setting will improve fuel efficiency.
  • 4X4/Snow: Offers better control on slippery road conditions, which is great during winter storms in Lewistown, State College, and Bellefonte.
  • Off-Road: Sends a greater share of torque to the rear wheels for better driving over low-traction terrain, such as grass, gravel, or loose dirt.
  • Tow/Haul: Keeps the Traverse at a lower gear, so it can produce more torque to pull along a heavy trailer—when properly equipped, you can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Interior Features

This 3-row midsize SUV offers seating for up to eight passengers, and all trims come with standard LED running lights, xenon headlights, 18-inch wheels, and heated side mirrors. Engine stop-start technology is standard, allowing the engine to turn itself off while the car idles, and then seamlessly restart when you return your foot to the accelerator. A tilt-adjustable steering wheel and cloth upholstery are standard.2018 Chevy Traverse Review

You’ll even be able to view a report card of your teen’s driving behaviors.

A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard as well, and you’ll be able to completely integrate your smartphone with the system using Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™. A rearview camera and OnStar 4G LTE with a Wi-Fi hotspot are standard features.
