When it comes to hard-working, high-performing vehicles, Chevy knows how to get the job done. Whether it’s a rough-and-tumble pickup truck, a classic muscle car, or a refined but still adventurous crossover SUV like the Equinox, they know how to please drivers. That’s possibly why you see so many Chevrolet vehicles on the roads of State College, from Bellefonte to Lewistown, and all around the region.
The new Chevy Equinox is arriving in showrooms as we speak, and fans of the sector are eager to see what they’ll get from the latest iteration of this great small crossover. Let’s look at a detailed review of the 2019 Chevy Equinox, and discover where in the area you can test drive one today.
This year, the 2019 Chevy Equinox arrives at dealerships with a number of really exciting upgrades. There’s a new touchscreen interface for the infotainment system, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a new optional Lights and Brights Package at the LT trim level. Front-wheel drive is standard on all models, but all-wheel drive is an option at the LS level and up.
The Equinox is powered by one of three engines. At the base level you’ll get a 1.5-liter turbo-four that delivers plenty of power at 170 horsepower with 203 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic. Next up is a 2.0-liter turbo-four. This one puts out 252 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, and is paired to a 9-speed automatic.
There is also a diesel option; something not many small crossovers offer. It’s a 1.6-liter engine paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, generating 137 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.
There are four trim levels on the new Equinox and a wealth of add-ons and options packages. The basic trim levels are the entry-level L, the mid-range LS, the luxury-minded LT, and the range-topping Premier.
At the LS level, you’ll get a broad package of base features and technology, including fuel-saving features like engine stop-start. You’ll get convenience and comfort features including heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, and driver information display. Technology-wise, you get the Teen Driver watchdog features as well as the Infotainment 3 interface with the OnStar® Wi-Fi Hotspot, a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth®, six speakers, smartphone app integration, and more.
There are a wide range of add-ons and upgrades available both in terms of higher trim levels and features packages. With these you can add features like xenon headlights, satellite radios, power driver seats, and bigger wheels. There are hands-free liftgate options for convenience, and wireless device charging to keep your phone energized on the go.
Most of the active intelligent safety features are included in the Confidence and Convenience package, but this gives you a broad range of security, including: parking sensors, Remote Start, Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, and more.
If you’re in the State College region, in Lewistown, Bellefonte or nearby communities, you can drive the 2019 Equinox yourself. Just stop into The Lake Dealerships and ask about taking a look today.
